Now, I know we promised we'd share the guest bathroom next, but we figured that there wasn't that much to say about it since it's not very big, and let's be honest - it's a bathroom. Maybe we can smush it in with the laundry room and the hall or something.
Anyway, moving on. We decided to share the kitchen with you. Several features to point out right away:
-Notice the fridge, covered with cards and photos of you. Please send more because we love them...and Todd is liable to start taking all the Christmas-themed ones down before we get too much further from December 25th.
-Also, note the general cleanliness. Although my bedroom at times has been known to be very slightly disheveled, I do have standards when it comes to dirty kitchens. Between the two of us, we keep it pretty clean. Also important to note, it isn't clean because we don't cook, quite the contrary. We can promise you, if you come to stay with us, several delicious, home-cooked meals. Todd can take care of any of your Italian dining needs and I can probably whip up something or other from American cuisine. In fact, visible on the end of the counter is the crockpot, currently full of barbecue chicken. The oven was also full of homemade rolls, at the time (yeah, we know, we don't have kids).
The only slightly noteworthy parts of this side of the kitchen are the recycling pile and the cookbook corner....yep, that's about it.
And here is the dining table where we will eat all of our delicious meals when you come to visit. Todd wants me to add (and rightly so) that this is where we will also play fun games together when you come. We are particularly excited to try out "The Origin of Expressions" with you. Don't worry, the table pulls out so it can seat many more than four (see Thanksgiving post if not convinced).
Well, that concludes House Tour part 2. If we can get the front room/living room presentable (aka cleared of Becky's pile of grading), we'll show you that next. Highlights include: the piano, the pillows from Pier One, and the lamp that attracts dive bombing Asian stink beetles. Thanks again, Maryland. ;)
Your apartment is really cute and very homey! I want to come and visit! Soooo, maybe in March? Let's start scheming so that it can happen!
ReplyDeleteMommy, I want some barbecue chicken and rolls. Just a side question, do you think the cupboards have been painted white since they were built? The house we're probably going to buy has nasty cupboards and I'm trying to figure out what we should do with them.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! I'm glad you started blogging again!
ReplyDeleteMore please!!
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how relieved I am that we're not the only people with a recycling pile. Of course, yours is much more well-behaved than ours, but at least it's the same concept.
